Casting Announced for The Inexplicable Pastrana
Paula Ramirez (Julia Pastrana)
ABOUT Paula Ramirez is originally from Venezuela, Paula got her B.F.A from Nebraska Wesleyan University and has spent the last two and half years diving into Chicago's diverse theatre community. She's had the pleasure of working with Prologue, Redmoon Theatre, Erasing the Distance and For Youth Inquiry. Paula is a member of Teatro Luna (Artistic Associate) and Gray Talent. She is excited to be undertaking the Pastrana journey with this cast and team and can't wait to tell this incredible story!
Ross Flores (Theodore Lewis Lent)
ABOUT Ross Flores, from New Rochelle, NY, graduated with a BA from Northwestern University, where he studied Dance, Theatre and History. While at Northwestern, he had the pleasure of performing in works done by Randy Duncan, Dawn Mora, Annie Beserra, and Amanda Lower. He has also studied at the the Stonestreet Studios intensive in New York City where he focused on his on-camera acting technique and voice-over technique with professionals like Chris Modoono, Zach Galligan, and Ted Sluberski. In January of 2013, he went beyond the script and began his improvisation career at the iO Theater Improv Training Sequence Program. He is also a member of Gray Talent. On his off time he can be found juggling, perfecting latte art, and having an occasional freestyle jam. He is thrilled to be working with Colectivo El Pozo and gives much thanks to family, friends, El Pozo, arts collaborators and supporters. Peace and love.
Elizabeth Nungaray (Madre de Pastrana, Amiga, Zenora Paztrana)
ABOUT Elizabeth Nungaray is a Chicago based teatrista. An Artistic Associate at Teatro Luna, She believes in the power of youth voices; is a teaching artist.and initiated Teatro Vida, a space for teen girls in Little Village. She has worked with the Goodman, 2nd Story, Hackney Empire (London, UK) Titanic Players, ComedySportz, and Arftco, As part of a festival, Elizabeth performed her solo performance Color Me Blind in Stratford Circus, London, UK. Her 10 minute plays have been part of Goodman Theatre’s Latino Theatre Festival in 2013 & 2010. She is a recent graduate of Columbia College. Also, enjoys café con leche, lipstick, and earrings - in that order.
Eric Wang (Doctors, Scientists, Annensky, and more!)
ABOUT Eric was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago. While not a police officer or firefighter/EMT in the show, he plays them in real life. Since appearing on the American Bible Challenge gameshow, he has taken up acting classes and pursued opportunities in tv, film, and theater. Eric has been spotted running marathons, baking, riding roller coasters for 11 hrs., enjoying unclehood, writing, jumping from high places, dreaming big, and fleeing the country. He is honored and humbled that Colectivo El Pozo has entrusted him to help tell the Pastrana story. Eric thanks his family for supporting his mildly chaotic life. Gloria a Dios!
